Make your life easier and your business more efficient with the latest accounting software

Over the past few years we have been looking at what software is available and have made steps to implement changes internally, as well as assisting our clients on their journey to more automated processes.

Through our ongoing work to review the new technology as it hits the market we are happy to share with you a short list of recommended solutions that we believe may provide a valuable tool for you and your business. Dext, which used to be known as Receipt Bank, has three offerings at present:

• Prepare; which works to collect and extract the data from your receipts so that it can be exported into your accounting software. It is compliant with HMRC’s requirements for keeping records, so you do not need to retain the paperwork once it has been uploaded. This simple solution works best as a phone app and can save you hours of time along with the physical space saving benefits.
• Precision; once the data is in your software, Dext Precision is an analytics tool allowing users to review the data and really keep it tidy and meaningful.
• Commerce; another new offering that we’ve recently started using. This is of great benefit to businesses who sell on digital platforms such as Amazon, Etsy, Woo, Ebay, and others.

Joiin – this is our newest offering and will provide great value to those of you who have multiple businesses and want easy access to consolidated financial reporting. The software integrates with Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, and even spreadsheets and can provide great looking reports which can give you important insights into performance.

Fluidly – this is an app we use to provide cashflow forecasting so we can assist businesses with scenario planning. Fluidly also offer funding options which could be of great value in these difficult times.

Last but not least is our frequently recommended accounting software of choice, Xero. This is where all the financial data comes together. It is also compatible with HMRC for their Making Tax Digital requirements and offers an online filing solution for VAT, CIS, PAYE, and accounts. It works equally well for sole-traders, landlords, and limited companies.
