Charterhouse Charity Day, our chance to give back to our community.

Last year we held our first charity day where members of our team were encouraged to spend the day volunteering for one of a few chosen charities, including our Charity of the Year MIND in Harrow.

The day was such a huge success that we are holding our next Charity day today and have been blessed with superb weather again.

This year the whole team is involved volunteering for two charities, our current Charity of the Year St Luke’s Hospice Harrow and one of our previous charities, Kids Can Achieve. Our work for the day includes gardening at both sites, working to help the retail staff in St Luke’s shops and helping process all donations at their warehouse. If our team can help both charities continue to provide their invaluable services, the day will be a success.

 What we also found last year is that everyone enjoyed themselves and the stories and laughter at the evening social were fantastic, there is no doubt it will be the same this year. The feel-good factor for our team is incredible and it proves that doing good is good for the business, helping the team bond and have a sense of purpose outside of delivering our day-to-day services.

As a business we have, for many years, supported local charities and community projects and believe it is an essential role for all businesses to undertake to help ensure that all communities have the support they need, even more important in the current economic climate.
