MIND in Harrow – tip of the day Set an intention for the New Year.
As a business, we have always put the health and wellbeing of our staff at the forefront of everything we do and this, to a large extent was behind our decision to adopt MIND in Harrow as our Charity of the Year. One of MIND’s initiatives is to help with “Top Tips” on how to overcome particular stress points and over the last few months we have been helping them by pushing these out to our contacts and here is the latest one for the New Year. Often, at the beginning of a New Year, we do think about change. And talk about resolutions. But this year, more than ever, setting an intention could be a kinder and healthier habit. An intention is more forgiving and honours efforts and process, not just results. It is a positive call to action about something you want to do and is built on what you wish to contribute to the world and how you choose to touch the lives of others. You can set them daily, weekly or monthly, e.g “I intend to show acts of kindness today, I want to appreciate everything in my life as much as possible, or may I be humble enough to surrender the things I cannot control.” Write down your intention and put it somewhere as a gentle reminder. Repeat it out loud and may your intentions this year inspire you with a sense of joy and hope. If you want to talk to someone or know someone who needs support find key numbers and information here.
